Dear Orchard Hill Families,

Jessica Schacht - Special Education Instructional Paraeducator

  1. # of years at Orchard Hill and # of years in education? 7 years at OH and 14 years in the field of education
  2. What do you enjoy most about working at our school? Getting to work with students in the grades of K-2
  3. What inspired you to become an educator (or work in education)? To be a positive influence in the lives of young children. I also wanted to give back to a community that once served me. I required special education services, had a IEP and had related services. Working at this school gives my life a sense of purpose and it makes my "teacher heart" happy to work here.
  4. Where did you grow up? Enfield, CT
  5. What college did you graduate from? I obtained my BLS degree from Bay Path University
  6. Do you have any siblings? I have one younger sister, Alexis
  7. What was your favorite sport/activity as a child? basketball, bowling and badmitton
  8. What do you like to do outside of school? I like to listen to music, take walks for exercise and watch TV
  9. What's your favorite food or snack? My favorite snack is mildly dark chocolate. My favorite food is protein pasta.
  10. What's your favorite childhood book or show? I grew up watching "Rugrats." I liked the Frank Asch bear stories
  11. Do you have any pets? I currently have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I grew up with cats in my family
  12. If you weren't in education, what would you do? I'd love to be a early childhood educational consultant.

Lost & Found **please write your child's name on the clothing

As a reminder, our Lost & Found will be in our lobby during parent/teacher conferences, so please take a look if your child is missing something! A great strategy to avoid having something lost, is to write your child's name on the tag of the clothing.
